Description of Tasks

Building Services Technicians perform technical tasks, either independently or under the direction of a qualified engineer, contributory to design, installation, operation, maintenance and repair of building services systems and equipment. Assist to plan, coordinate and supervise their projects.

Problem solving skills

Building Services Technicians often test the designs to make sure that they work. Technicians help to resolve any problems that may arise.

Building Services Technicians often work on multiple tasks and projects at the same time and must be able to prioritise their tasks.

Minimum Requirements

• A higher diploma or an associate degree in building services engineering, mechanical engineering or electrical engineering, or equivalent
• 1 to 2 years of relevant work experiences
