Landscape Architect
Description of Tasks
Landscape Architects plan and design land areas and open spaces for building projects, such as parks and recreational facilities for commercial, industrial and residential sites. They also involve in planning and monitoring of the related construction and maintenance.
Construction project management knowledge and skills
To lead landscape architectural design projects, Landscape Architects must manage projects from start to finish. They must coordinate effectively with different professionals and clients and have to make choices to ensure that the projects are well completed on time and within budget.
Professional knowledge and skills in landscape architecture
Landscape Architects must always apply professional knowledge and skills in relation to landscape architectural design to solve issues and problems at work.
Minimum Requirements
- Normally have a bachelor's degree or master's degree in landscape architecture. Holders of relevant higher diplomas can articulate to related degree programmes.
- generally are registered landscape architects under the Landscape Architects Registration Ordinance; and usually are members of the Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects
- usually 5 to 8 years of working experience in landscape architectural discipline, either from consultant or developers is required
