Occupational Therapist
Description of Tasks
Occupational Therapists assess, plan, organise, and participate in rehabilitative and remedial programmes that help build or restore vocational, homemaking, and daily living skills, as well as general independence, to persons with disabilities or developmental delays. They are also responsible for providing training to caregivers.
Professional knowledge and skills in occupational therapy
Occupational Therapists must be flexible in apply the knowledge and skills in occupational therapy and design different rehabilitation and treatment plans to help patients with various diseases to prevent, reduce or overcome disabilities.
Minimum Requirements
- usually have a Professional Diploma or a bachelor of science degree in occupational therapy.
- must be a registered Occupational Therapist under the Supplementary Medical Professions Ordinance
- must hold a valid practicing certificate issued by the Supplementary Medical Professions Council of Hong Kong
