Job Posting Details The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering is looking for a Teaching Associate/Instructional Assistant to support student-initiated projects and other teaching activities. The appointee is expected to assist course instructors in designing and developing teaching materials, facilitate students’ participation in team competitions, and provide administrative and logistical support for course and project-related activities. The appointee will also be required to assist in course preparation and delivery, student enrichment programs and related activities. The appointee may also be required to contribute to pedagogical initiatives such as experiential learning, blended learning and MOOC development.

Applicants are expected to have a higher degree, preferably a PhD in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline. Those with strong laboratory supervision skills, hands-on experience, and relevant teaching or project management experience are preferred. The appointee is expected to be a strong team player with excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. A high level of proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Putonghua) is essential. Flexibility to work outside normal office hours may be required. Candidates with a qualified background but less experience may be considered for appointment as Instructional Assistant. (Duration: 2 years, renewable) Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
