The School of Drama invites applications for Temporary Lecturer in Movement. The postholder will be responsible to Dean of the School of Drama and his delegate(s) for the planning, teaching, delivery and assessment of a range of training and theory-based courses including those in BFA programme for acting major. Meanwhile, the postholder will also assist in the pedagogical activities of the School of Drama, and providing support to students’ admission and recruitment when required, etc. In addition to teaching foundational and advanced movement classes, applicants may also be responsible for instructing choreography, engaging in cross-disciplinary teaching, and providing coaching for projects and productions, etc.

Applicants should have:

(a) A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree(s) of related fields;

(b) Significant and proven professional experience in the postholder’s area of specialism, with the context of Movement;

(c) Experience in teaching various forms of modern movement training, such as Suzuki, Viewpoints, Contact Improvisation, Contemporary Choreography, Laban, Mask Works, Stage Combat, and non-western based movement or dance techniques;

(d) Demonstrated interest and experience in teaching a diverse student body with an inclusive curriculum;

(e) Fluency in biliteracy (English and Cantonese), a good command of Putonghua would be an advantage; and

(f) Excellent collaborative and communication skills.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT

Appointment will be on one-year contract. Subject to negotiation, expected commencement date will be September 2024.
