Job description

Cluster/Department: Development & Works Division, HA Head Office

Pay: HK$158,552 to HK$182,669 per month including Monthly Allowance

Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Architect will be responsible for leading a team of in-house managers in the healthcare planning and development of various hospital and healthcare facility projects. The incumbent is expected to have a demonstrated track record in team leadership and management capabilities. The incumbent will report to Chief Manager (Capital Planning) on the planning and development of the Hospital Development Plan projects.

1. Translate clinical service needs into facility requirements for capital works projects.
2. Provide support in managing heritage impact assessment and other preparatory work for capital works projects.
3. Steer the healthcare planning and design of capital works projects.
4. Develop systems and standards for hospital planning and design.
5. Ensure the projects are planned and developed to the appropriate design standards.
6. Any other duties as required to facilitate planning and development of capital works project design including job rotation to other relevant posts within and outside the Division.

Entry Requirements:

1. Member / Corporate Member of a professional institution, i.e. the Hong Kong Institute of Architects or equivalent, with at least 10 years’ post qualification experience.
2. Practical experience of planning, design and construction of hospitals and/ or large scale capital works projects of similar complexity.
3. Exemplary professional competency, conduct and ethics.
4. Sound knowledge of healthcare planning and design.
5. A high degree of independence, self-motivation, leadership and organizational ability.
