RESEARCH AND INNOVATION OFFICE
Manager / Assistant Manager (Ref. 240909008-IE)
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) assist in the planning and execution of new initiatives and policies, especially related to the development of Research Institutes (RIs) in Mainland;
(b) manage and support the operation of RIs such as setting up and renovation of laboratories to ensure compliance with relevant policies;
(c) coordinate and liaise with internal and external parties for work plans execution, as well as preparing reports and delivering presentation;
(d) support the operations of the Office and the University’s research platforms in Shenzhen, including managing collaboration activities and space utilisation; and
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Research and Innovation or his/her delegates.
The appointee will be required to work beyond normal office hours and travel occasionally to the Mainland and overseas when necessary.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree;
(b) have at least five years of solid administrative and supervisory experience, of which at least two years’ experience gained from private sector, preferably with experience in carrying out negotiations for collaborative agreements and knowledge of renovation;
(c) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua;
(d) possess a positive attitude with good interpersonal skills, willing to learn and take on new tasks;
(e) be creative, highly independent and motivated with high sense of ownership;
(f) have strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills; and
(g) have good computer literacy and be familiar with MS Office.
Preference will be given to those who have experience in project management, knowledge transfer and/or technology licensing collaboration.
Applicants with less experience will be considered for appointment at Assistant Manager.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
