Manager - Industry Development (Temp for 6 months) | HK Talent Engage

Job description

The applicant must possess:

1. a recognised degree in engineering / surveying / architecture or other construction related discipline, preferably with relevant professional qualification;
2. a minimum of 10 years’ working experience in engineering / surveying / architecture or other construction related fields; experience in supervising subordinates is preferred;
3. profound knowledge in project planning and management; solid experience in enhancing construction productivity and operational efficiency will be an advantage;
4. proven strong network with stakeholders in the local construction industry;
5. a high level of integrity and a sense of responsibility;
6. strong leadership, interpersonal and presentation skills;
7. proactive, resourceful, creative, energetic character and can work independently; and
8. excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.

(Applicants who do not possess the required qualifications and / or experience may be considered for other positions within the organisation.)

Duties include:

1. to lead, co-ordinate, and drive the adoption of Modular Integrated Construction (MiC), Multi-trade Integrated MEP (MiMEP), including but not limited to i) unlocking technical barriers; ii) assisting in preparing training programme; iii) establishing digital resource centre; and iv) promoting the best practices and merits of MiC and MiMEP;
2. to drive Modern Method of Construction (MMC) and smart project delivery in construction by identifying digital solutions in enhancing project delivery and compiling practical guide / model specifications for promoting the adoption of digitalisation in construction
3. to take an proactive approach in identifying opportunities to promulgate the utilisation of innovative solutions for enhancing construction project performance in terms of time, cost and quality
4. to manage research and consultancy projects related to construction productivity and liaise with the stakeholders and relevant parties for the implementation of research and consultancy outcomes;
5. to provide technical and secretariat support to the CIC’s Committee on Productivity and Task Forces / Expert Group in undertaking assignments;
6. to prepare work plans, study briefs, research reports, papers, guidelines, standards, documents of technical nature as well as any other relevant documents for enhancing the performance of the industry;
7. to proactively contribute ideas and engage with other departments and functional teams under the Industry Development Division to show collaborative effort and deliver tasks in good quality; and
8. to supervise subordinates to achieve goals and assigned tasks; and
9. to carry out any other duties as assigned from time to time by the Executive Director.
