Job description

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop go-green initiatives and new technologies for enhancement of environmental performance and execution
• Develop and execute environmental management programmes, particularly on noise emitted from the operating railway and go-green initiatives for railway operations
• Engage and liaise with internal and external stakeholders on environmental consultancy management projects
• Coordinate and conduct research in green technology development for the operating railway
• Review the adequacy of existing measures and assess the environmental risks arising from the operating railway
• Prepare tender documents and submissions, provide technical support and recommendations, respond to technical enquiries as well as conduct audits to ensure the environmental programmes are in compliance with statutory requirements and governmental practice

Requirements

• Degree in Environmental Engineering or a related discipline
• A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience, of which 3 years should be in railway noise assessment, analysis and management
• Possession of Corporate Membership of a recognised professional institution is an advantage
• Knowledge of computer programming, smart environmental technology application and related environmental legislation / regulation, particularly the Noise Control Ordinance is preferred
• Proficient in MS PowerPoint and Excel with knowledge of creating visual materials
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese including Putonghua
• Self-motivated, able to plan and undertake environmental initiatives independently with good leadership and stakeholder management skills

Remarks

• Candidate withs less experience will be considered for the Assistant Environmental Engineer position
