Description of Tasks
- Ship surveyors with expertise play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of vessels in the maritime industry. Their duties include but not limited to: conduct regular inspections, and evaluate vessel structures, machinery, and safety systems; issue necessary certificates; review stability calculations, load-handling procedures, and emergency response plans; approve design plans for vessel construction or modifications in accordance with regulatory compliance; investigate the causes in the event of accidents; offer valuable consultancy services to vessel owners and industry stakeholders, and contribute to the continuous improvement of maritime safety practices.
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marine surveying, naval architecture, marine engineering, mechanical engineering or marine operations;
- Possess knowledge of related regulations, along with strong analytical and communication skills, good decision-making ability, the capability to interpret technical data and work autonomously; and
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in marine surveying, naval architecture, classification societies, marine engineering or equivalent.
