Role Introduction

Reports to: Customer Experience Manager – Seating Products

Departments: CED - Customer Experience & Design

Through a deep understanding and insights of our customers, the job holder is responsible to ensuring Cathay Pacific offers the best seating products. The key mandate for the role is to execute projects and deliver the defined experience. This should be achieved within defined budget and timeline. The person should be the focal for seating project matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and deliver improvement to inflight experience through aircraft seating product development projects.
  • Define product requirements and specification, ensure an accurate and specific level of ambition and scope is defined at the beginning of the project.
  • For the assigned project, be the focal point of stakeholder BUs, liaison and alignment on any internal issues. The candidate would also need to assist in the compilation of business cases, including the use of cost/revenue evaluation model.
  • Be financially conscious and deliver projects within budget and timeline.
  • Monitor project progress and expenses, and provide regular reports to management
  • During the closing stages of a project, coordinate with Marketing on product communication to ensure the selling points are conveyed and delivered accurately.
  • Maintain an integrated approach to product planning and management across multiple departments, ensuring that products developed comply with customer needs, competitive imperatives and Cathay Pacific’s overall product strategy.
  • Prepare product design brief and engage with industrial designers, suppliers and internal business units on the customisation, functionality and aesthetic design of inflight cabin products.
  • Work with industrial designer on design concepts and select colour & trim based on Brand Ethos. Ensure products developed met with needs of customers.
  • Keep abreast of innovative concept, technological advancement and latest product of other airlines or transportation sector. And conduct study when necessary.
  • Identify research requirements, participate in research and insight analysis activities and provide feedback and recommendations by working with Insight team.
  • Recommend product enhancement initiatives.

Requirements

  • University degree holder in design-related or business-related discipline; with 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Hands-on experience in product development or design of customer experience, particularly those in the premium sector, would be advantage.
  • Knowledge and experience in project management and vendor management.
  • Knowledge and industry awareness of the aviation industry, specifically in In-flight Interior and Inflight Seating is in advantage.
  • Experience in application of Design Thinking would be an advantage.
  • Good planning and organising skills, as well as analytical and exploratory skills.
  • Detailed-oriented, be aesthetically sensitive and have knowledge in colour and material.
  • Be an independent thinker and able to make conscious decisions based on known information but also be a team player.
  • Be vocal and can influence people in different part of the organization.
