The applicant must possess:

1. a recognised degree or above in civil / structural engineering, with corporate membership of ICE/ HKIE (Structural or Civil Discipline) or/and The Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE);
2. a minimum of 7 years’ post-qualification relevant working experience in civil / structural engineering works particularly good at structural analysis, preferably with experience in teaching and with a good vision particularly in courses and / or programme articulation and / or Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (HKQF);
3. experience in programme design and documentation work under the HKQF would be an advantage;
4. conversant with comprehensive and latest knowledge and technology in construction industry or training related areas, and knowledge in BIM and MiC would be an advantage;
5. profound knowledge in project management and implementation, strongly self-initiated and good analytical skills;
6. a high level of integrity and a strong sense of responsibility;
7. strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills and effective network with stakeholders in construction industry or vocational education and training; and
8. a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.

(Applicants who do not possess the required qualifications and / or experience may be considered for other positions within the organisation.)

Duties include:

1. to conduct teaching related to civil / structural engineering subjects such as structural analysis, and to organise all necessary activities for programme operation including site visits etc.;
2. to develop plans in courses / programmes articulation and liaise with relevant stakeholders, including construction companies and educational and / or vocational training institutes, for possible collaboration and implementation of new training courses; and to liaise with the industry on the provision of tailor-made training courses;
3. to prepare training materials to comply with the training requirement and development of the industry, prepare assignment / examination papers and mark student scripts;
4. to devise and implement new training courses, and to update course content;
5. to carry out study and to prepare plan and proposal in connection with construction industry;
6. to perform secretariat duties for related working groups and any other relevant meetings when required;
7. to undertake duties related to the HKQF; and
8. to carry out any other duties as assigned from time to time by the Executive Director.
