Role Introduction

Reports to: Head of Fleet Programmes

Departments: ENG - Engineering

Engineering’s role is focused on reassurance, keeping our people and our customers safe, ensuring that in every aspect of our operation we have industry leading performance and that our various fleet programmes are delivering to plan, budget and specification.

Engineering’s ambition is to be one of the world’s highest performing, customer centric and progressive engineering teams and the role of the Fleet Management Manager is to lead and manage a team of experienced engineers to deliver cross-department engineering support to a wide range of commercial activities relating to acquisition, lease and sale of aircraft.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure lease aircraft contracts are cost effective and manageable at both aircraft acquisition and redelivery.
• Ensure lease aircraft are maintained in compliance with contractual requirements, and act as Engineering focal of aircraft lessors during the aircraft lease term.
• Manage and report the aircraft lease return budget.
• Validate and pursue terms & conditions of aircraft contracts (purchase, sale, lease and finance etc.) to ensure Engineering can deliver to the agreed requirements.
• Provide visibility to Engineering Business Units (BUs) on leased fleet exit plans and return requirements such that all BUs can retain maximum value, whilst meeting the lease return requirements.
• Engineering focal for aircraft and fleet evaluations and in developing fleet plans.
• Engineering focal for collecting Engineering’s requirements for new aircraft RFP exercises and interfacing with Procurement & Aircraft Trading Department (APD) and the airframe manufacturer’s on those requirements.
• Manage fleet engine asset management function.
• Manage aircraft part-out suppliers and reporting of consignment sales revenue.

Requirements

• Typically 10 years' experience in aircraft maintenance and/or engineering.
• Degree in Engineering / Aerospace discipline or other comparable qualification.
• Proven experience of compiling and managing aircraft acquisition or lease contracts.
• Proven experience of supervising, managing projects and working with cross functional teams.
• Proven ability in stakeholder management and working with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Maintenance Reapir Organizations (MROs) and leasing companies.
• Strong in commercial and budget management experience.
• Excellent leadership skills. Excellent in communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
• Strong drive for excellence.
• Adaptable and responsive to change. Demonstrate ability to drive change. Proven ability to drive and manage multi-skilled teams.
