We are looking for a Director of Sales based at Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong!

As a Director of Sales, we rely on you to:

  • Responsible for the servicing and management of all accounts within an assigned area and assist the Head of Department in focusing and motivating the team to achieve the room night goals for the respective segment as laid out in the sales strategies and activities
  • Assist the Head of Department in developing and executing all sales strategies to respective market segment and drives sales target for the hotel
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of client database and explore new sources of business by developing new contacts
  • Conduct all the sales related activities and maintains excellent relationship with existing accounts and solicits new business
  • Secure, analyse, evaluate economic and marketing information on a local and international basis needed for sales operations
  • Monitors sales activities of competitors and prepares appropriate strategies for review with the team
  • Prepare weekly sales call reports, entertainment schedule and weekly call plan
  • Works with Events Management Team and other stakeholders to meet and exceed client expectations and follow up client feedback and comments after events
  • Promote seasonal packages and any promotion to major supporters
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the supervisors

We are looking for someone who has:

  • University graduate in Hospitality Management, Events Management or other related disciplines
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant hotel sales experience in Corporate or MICE markets
  • Experience in account maintenance and development of new accounts
  • Self-driven, able to challenge the status quo with strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong strategic sales leadership skills
  • Well versed in computer applications and hotel sales and events systems
  • Excellent command of written & spoken English, Cantonese and Putonghua
