Job Title: Librarian (Resource Management)

Job Posting Details Reporting to the Head (Resource Management), the appointee will be responsible for managing the acquisitions, metadata records, and access of serials collections. The appointee will:
- Assist in the daily operations of the serials team
- Liaise with vendors and publishers on complex acquisitions issues related to sourcing, selecting, and ordering library materials
- Assist in managing collection budget and expenditure
- Oversee the management of electronic resource lifecycles
- Troubleshoot access problems
- Lead usage harvesting projects and compile usage analysis reports
- Create and manage metadata for the discovery of library collections
- Manage weeding projects and records removal
- Be a resource of the application of metadata for bibliographic control of all intellectual and research output, including but not limited to monographs, journal articles and research data.
- Participate in library-wide projects and committees as needed
Applicants should have an MLS degree or equivalent in addition to a bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of post-qualification library experience, preferably in acquisitions or electronic resources management in an academic library. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment, and a learning mindset. Knowledge of Open Access publishing, OCLC system and Alma; experience with CONSER cataloging, RDA, MARC21, and linked data will be an advantage. (Duration: 2 years, renewable) Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave and medical benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
